Look who made it all the way from Afghanistan!

I went to check my mail today, and look what I got! A card from Laura! (She is my cousin. She is currently deployed in Afghanistan) She makes her own cards and is really in to scrap booking. You can see her blog at lauraevangeline.blogspot.com :)

So, like all good hosts should do for their guests, I showed my visitor around my home: The Texas A&M University Campus!

(NOTE: If the pictures are too small, click on them to enlarge the photo!)

First, we stopped by the bookstore. It is right down the hall from the post office where my mail box is!

Second, we kept on going down the hall at the MSC (Memorial Student Center) and stopped by the flag room, one of my favorite places on campus. Unfortunately, after this year they are going to close this building as well as this room for a 3 year long renovation. The black surface that the card is sitting on is actually a large grand piano. People like to come and play on it, and the sound travels to every ear in the MSC. It is absolutely beautiful.

Next, we walked out of the MSC, and past Rudder Tower- The tallest building on campus.

As we continued past Rudder, we stopped to appreciate the the 9/11 memorial.

After viewing the memorial, a group of freshman members of the Corps of Cadets walked by. I stopped them and told them that my cousin sent me this awesome card from Afghanistan and I wanted her to see that I got it by showing her card in front of A&M staples. They were really happy to take the picture (being as they are freshman in the corps...meaning they are pretty low on the totem pole, I'm sure it made them feel cool for a change.) :)

Almost home! This is my dorm!

Ah! Home, sweet home. ( See my Edward Cullen poster? ;) )

And last, but not least, here's me showing my new friend my blog, where she would make her debut!

Thank you La La!

Awkward Valentine's Cuffs

Okay, so I was just minding my own business the week of valentines day when I walked into the on campus convenient store. I was standing in the line at the check out, when I happened to look up and see fuzzy hand cuffs hanging from the ceiling. One word: AWKWARD. Anyways, since it made me feel awkward, I decided to spread the awkwardness to those around me. I asked the guy at the register if those were his fuzzy hand cuffs hanging from the ceiling. He looked at me like he was really confused and then he looked up (thus the picture above), and said, "oh, yeah. No. Our manager put those there. Some people have gotten really mad about it." I bet, being that this is Texas A&M University and EVERYTHING is offensive. lol. I love my University, but some people are dumb. Dumb for putting fuzzy handcuffs on the ceiling, and dumb for getting mad about it.

No more tests+Clean Dorm= Success

The title says it all! The hardest part is over. :)
I still have a pretty big task to tackle...my biology lab...but I'm more than half way done with this week, and next week will me smooth sailin' again! I took my calculus test this morning at 9:00 am. I'm thinking either a high A or a low B on that one because I either completely rocked it out on the work out problems...or I bombed. So we will see with that one. Then I took my History test at 1:50. I felt pretty good about that one! I think I made an A, but I am going to tell myself I made a B so I won't be disappointed if I don't. Then I cleaned the dorm (this is a HUGE deal). It took me 2.5 hours...lol Then I did my laundry! 3 loads! woah!

Now I'm waiting for my last load of laundry to finish drying and then I'm going to start working on my biology lab. Thing is, in order for me to really study, I need the slides from lab...and my Lab TA hasn't e mailed them to me yet...so I'm still waiting on that one...with fingers crossed. He also hasn't e mailed us and told us what experiments the quiz is over like he said he would...which is stressful. But I'm sure it will all work out.

On the upside, I have volleyball tomorrow! :) and I am going to temple with Parker this weekend! I'm getting my hair done, my nails done, and my lip waxed on saturday! LOL! I'm gunna be one hot mamma!

Anyways, better get to making my To Do List:

My new hobby is studying...apparently.

I am so worn out. All I have done today is gone to class and studied. I am really hungry! I am really running low on fuel. I have 2 tests on Wednesday (Calculus and History) and a big quiz on thursday. I feel like I have no more energy...I need to rest, but there's no time! I'm really losing it. There is just a lot of information to know for these next 2 tests...and quite a lot for that quiz...but I'm not even going to think about the quiz yet. I'm going to focus on the tests, and then whenever wednesday night rolls around, I will deal with my lab assignment and my lab quiz. I missed the t.u. men's basketball game on campus tonight because I had to go to a calculus study session...Parker went...he said it was awesome...and we won. Dang. I really feel like crying. I am just so tired and so worn...

To Do List:
Math 131:
1. Repeat review questions
2. Go over every section

Hist 105:
1. Do practice test I made
2. Review notes

Everything I ever wanted, everything I need

Wow. So today was valentine's day. Parker and his room mate Jake made dinner for Ande (Jake's girlfriend) and me. It was sooo good! They made chicken fried steak with mashed potatoes, macaroni, AND homemade gravy. It was awesome.

After dinner, Parker blindfolded me and walked me to his car. We drove for a while and then he parked and helped me out. I was so scared! Its crazy having to walk without being able to see if you're going to walk right into a pole or something. But, Parker held my hand and I followed. We walked for about five minutes before he told me that I could take off the blindfold. When I opened my eyes, the two of us were right in front of the century oak. My heart jumped a little. He took my hand and we walked under together and sat on the bench under the tree. We sat down and he gave me a huge bouquet of flowers and a card. The card was absolutely precious. The flowers were absolutely gorgeous...and it felt so good to be under that tree with him.

These are the beautiful flowers that Parker gave to me under the century tree.

This is the century tree. The tradition is that if two people walk under the tree together, it is a sign that they will be together forever. If you walk under alone, legend says that you will be alone forever.

So, today was amazing. Thank you Parker for being my valentine. :)

Celeb vs. Celeb: Backstreet Boys vs. N*SYNC

Okay, I think this is an issue that needs to be addressed, a question that must be answered:

WHO IS BETTER? N*SYNC OR THE BACKSTREET BOYS?

Simple answer: The Backstreet Boys. I mean, really. Lets take a look at the 5 areas that matter.

LOOK

puh-lease. There is no question. Winner of this round: BSB
Need proof? That's fine. A simple picture analysis will prove my point:

The Backstreet Boys

N*SYNC...**cough** GAY **cough**
I hate you, Joey fatone. You are the embodiment of the perverted soul within each and every mall santa.
Lance Bass, you're gay; But at least you admit it.
Chris Kirkpatrick...who cares? Just ask Eminem.
Justin Timberlake, you're not that awesome. Cry me a river.

SMELL:

Again, another easy win. Round 2 victors: BSB
Proof of this? lets try another picture analysis.

Looks like Joey Fat One...Fatone...can't even handle his own man-stink.

Oh, Kevin Richardson! You smell like JESUS!

TASTE
okay, I don't think I am at liberty to discuss this. Cannibalism is illegal in the US...might have to go to Canada to discuss this one...so we can call this one a draw.

SOUND
Oh, yeah. This one is the big boy. Let's break it down.

EXHIBIT A: JC CHASEZ, ALL DAY LONG I THINK ABOUT SEX

I will not be so cruel as to ask you to watch this whole video. You should know though, that I was forced to watch this whole video when my WHOLE COMPUTER froze EXCEPT this video...all in the name of science. Anyways, here it is. I cannot allow myself to put the actual video on my blog...so heres the link.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ydQhd_go7lc

If I was allowed to adress JC on this issue, I believe my response would be something like,"Mr. Chasez, what you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul."

Moving on. Current Score: BSB-3 N*SYNC-0

EXHIBIT B: BACKSTREET BOYS, EVERYBODY (BACKSTREETS BACK)

Here's the link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O6XE1XRiLeY

not only do The BSB show off their theatrical talents, they entertain while sounding AWESOME, making you want to dance and cry at the same time from the beauty of it all.

so the final score is: Backstreet Boys-4 N*SYNC-0
point proven.

Test Day!

Parker and I saw this car in the parking garage...haha.

WOo! Today is over! I had a Biology test and a Calculus quiz. My biology professor posts the exams and the exam keys online after each test, so if you can remember what you put for each question (which is actually not that hard) then you can calculate your grade. Normally I remember pretty well, so my calculations are pretty close to the actual grade I get. I calculated it, and I think I got an 87.5. Not too shabby for a first test. And I also have earned 4 bonus points so far, so that puts me up to a 91.5. :)

Tomorrow should be smooth sailin' because I don't have a lab quiz (YAY!) and the only other classes I have tomorrow are Kines and my history discussion. I just have a lot of reading to do. I do have my calculus and history tests next Wednesday, though! I better get studying for those!

UPSTREAM TOMORROW! YAY!

To Do List: (things that are done are italics...my option for color is gone on here...and everything is all HTML-ish. I don't really know how to change it back, so if you know, please tell me!)

Biol 112:
1.Organize old lecture notes

Hist 105:
1. Read Paine
2. Print CD articles
3. Read articles
4. Re-read notes

Math 131:

What a Funny World We Live In

I know this is my second post for today, but I saw so many interesting things today, that I just have to share them!

Parker and I had lunch together...He was excited to get his picture taken...

...very excited.

I got on the bus with Parker after we ate, and stopped by the Vet Med building while Parker went on to work. I got one of Vaughn's old tests to study for my Biology exam this week. While I was on my way back, I encountered some funny things.

This man was literally shouting at the top of his lungs...not how I personally would go about spreading the gospel at Texas A&M University

...and I wasn't the only one taking pictures. He sort of made a spectacle of himself.

In contrast, when I was entering the commons to eat lunch with Parker, a girl at a table asked me if I wanted a free treat. I said, "Sure I do!" I got a Kellogg's Rice Krispies Treat. The Package had a sticker on the front though. It read, "'God demonstrates His own love for us in this: while we were still sinners, Christ died for us' Romans 5:8". I asked her what the organization was, and she simply replied, "We are just here to show that God's love is free."

This would be my lunch. And my uplifting Rice Krispies Treat!

This one was funny. Two motorcycles stopped for speeding by bike cops on campus...

And last, but not least, I actually saw the man drive up and park his motorcycle with all the bikes...I was like, "Wow. I have seen quite a few unusual things today."

Maybe I'm the only one that thinks some of these things are out of the ordinary. They made my day a little better though. Comment me and tell me which is your favorite if you want!

Monday, Monday.

Parker and I at a basketball game. :)

Well, this has not been the best Monday I have ever had, but it certainly hasn't been the worst. For some reason, I just could not wake myself up this morning. But, I did, and I was in class on time. I couldn't get ahold of Parker to tell him goodmorning...so that started me off a little icky. Then I went to my calculus class...we got back our first quiz...wow. I suck at life. I made a 6.5/10 on it. And the thing is, I thought I did good!!! But, Ms. Allen drops your lowest quiz grade and she said everyone did pretty bad on it. Oh, well. Life goes on. I did my best. They are really hardcore graders! they took off a lot of points for little things!

Anyway, I am in the SCC (Student Computing Center) on campus waiting for Parker to get out of class so we can go have lunch :) The best part of my Monday. I have a Biology test and Calculus quiz on Wednesday! Lord help me!

To Do List: (Monday Night Only)
Biol 112:
1. Go to review session
2. Study

Math 131:
1. Go to WIR
2. Do practice HW 2.3
3. Do HW 2.3

Uhg, I hate bad grades.

I just got back to my dorm, and man is it nice to have some peace and quiet. I love my family, but two days and I'm ready to get back. Mom made some really good food this weekend, and she sent some salsa home with Amanda and I. :) yum. I got a lot planned for parker's birthday/valentine's day, so that's good. Goin' Home

Today is FRIDAY! yay! I just love Friday. Its like all the stress from the week can leave my body for about 12 hours. :)
Parker and I went to Upstream together last night and that was awesome! It was a lot of fun. After that, we went to whataburger and then I took him home. This morning I had my biology class and my calculus class- both went awesome. Today is turning out to be quite good!
I am going home to visit the family today. Amanda (my roommate) is going home with me! I'm pretty excited about that. I have a lot of studying to do this weekend, but I think overall it will be fun and relaxing. My dad won't be there because hes going hog hunting...spotlighting. so he won't be home 'till late. :( but, I'm looking forward to good food, an extra squishy bed, and hugs from my family (even Sam, my little sister). :)
Parker will be in...Dallas (I think)...for his club paintball tournament this weekend. I think it will be good for him to get away and just do something he really enjoys. I hope they do well/win so Parker will be in a good mood...lol
This weekend is also going to be a big valentines/parker's birthday planning weekend. I will have a little bit of free time to do some running around and getting what I need.

Smooth Sailin'

So Parker pointed out to me that I spelled apartment wrong about 234987235918 times in my last blog. To those who care: ...shut up. I'm not going to college to be the best speller in the world.

This week should go fairly smooth! I am caught back up in all of my classes and even a little ahead in calculus. I have a new list of things to do for the next couple of days, though.

Parker walked me to my calculus class, and after that I met him at the SCC to see him before his calculus class. We are going to have lunch together in the commons :) I love having lunch with him. Its so fun to spend time with him when we aren't stressing or worrying about school or time.

Its February. February means two things in my dictionary: Valentines and Parker's birthday.
So heres the hard thing, valentines is the 14th and Parker's birthday is the 19th...I have so much planning to do! I have some ideas, but nothing is set in stone quite yet...and I am running low on funds...so I am going to have to get creative. I like making those days special for him but it stresses me out because I haven't come up with any spectacular ideas yet. I am going to feel like a crappy girlfriend if I don't think of anything soon. The thing is though, when I do think of something, I won't be able to talk about it on here until after valentines, because Parker reads this blog!
Way to go PK! you're creating suspense! :) I love you.

My Date With Parker

So, the 30th was the 2 month anniversary of Parker and I getting back together. I am so happy. He did some really sweet things for me. He told me to be at his house at 7:00 pm and not to eat before I came.
Before I went to his house, I made him a card out of a page from a princess coloring book and I made a ticket stub out of an index card that said "ADMIT ONE: into my heart. For: Parker From: Chelsea" :)
When I came to the door, I knocked...no answer. I knocked again...no answer. I cracked the door open and said, "Parker? Can I come in?" His voice came from his bathroom and I could hear that the sink water was running in there. He told me to hold on and so I waited about a minute before he came to the door and let me in. He gave me a quick peck on the lips and his skin smelled strongly of shaving cream...he had run a little short on time apparently. :) He ran back to the bathroom (to finish shaving the other side of his face) and I looked around. The appartment smelled of pasta sauce and his laptop was in the living room playing what turned out to be a playlist of our favorite songs. The table was set for two and there was a salad and a new bottle of ranch dressing on the counter. There were four pieces of bread in the toaster oven. I felt so warm and happy that he had done all this for me. I watched the bread toast while I waited for him and turned it off a little sooner than it was set for two reasons: 1. the toast would burn 2. i figured if Parker heard the toaster oven ding, then he would hurry back to take it out and butter it while it was hot. And, yet again, I am a genius and my assessment was correct. I heard parker coming back right after I made the toaster go off and I had to all but run back to the seat at the table to make myself seem inculpable. He rushed to the toaster, buttered the toast and opened the seal on some garlic salt seasoning...which he had obviously bought for the occasion. I don't know why, but that really made the whole thing seem genuine to me. He went out of his way just for something little to make the dinner special. I went to the cabinet to get out the bacon bits for the salad, and I was so caught up in my thoughts about how sweet he was for going out of his way and even the fact that he thought of that, that I didn't notice him place a rose infront of my place at the table and then return to the toast. When I turned around, it was just there...like magic almost. I turned the other way for one second and there he was surprising me again. It was such a pretty rose. It was yellow with a hint of pink on the edges of the petals and it was wrapped in brown wax paper. It was the icing on the cake. We sat down and ate...almost awkwardly at first...its been a long time since I have felt awkward with Parker...but it wasn't a bad thing. It was like a first date kind of feeling...but a first date with someone you have known and been best friends with for years...and now had fallen madly in love with. It was nice. With the music playing and the lights low and the food tasting AWESOME...it was a rather wonderful date. And then Parker says, "I think you will like the rest of the date." After we finished eating...we played xbox 360! :) The perfect end to a perfect date.

Today I signed the lease on our* new appartment for this August!

*our meaning: Myself, Amanda (my current roomie), Ande (Parker's roommate's girlfriend and also my friend), and Jackie (Amanda's friend)
