A Small Word!

Yesterday in Biology Lab, one of my friends (Rachel) brought this AMAZING thing to class- it was the entire Bible on a square sheet of microfilm. The words can only be read under a microscope device! Here's one of my other lab buddies, Chris, staring in awe at the microscopic Bible!

Feeling a little down

This week has been a stresser. Its been REALLY up and down. I had my interview for upstream today! I think it went well...i guess ill know next week! Right now I'm at the Student Computing Center working on my biology lab abstract which is due tomorrow...siiigh. Here is the highlight of my week:

Work comes before play

It seems that once I finish a hefty to-do list, there is always another one on its heels waiting to replace it. siiigh. So much to do, so little time. Parker made pizza and salad for us for dinner at his appartment last night. It was sooo good, I can't lie. It was exactly what I wanted...and actually I want it again tonight...so I'm probably going to head over to HEB tonight after all my class stuff is over and buy the bagged salad and ranch dressing, since Parker is out. He is really stressing about his classes, especially his Math 151 class. If anyone is reading this, it would be awesome if you could take a moment to pray for him, that he would be able to understand the material and be sucessful in the class, and to lighten his stress load...and also that he wouldn't be afraid or hesitant to make new friends in his classes and ask for help.
This semester in Upstream (a weekly freshman bible study that I attend) we are studying the book of...wow...I think it was James, but I'm not entirely sure. Anyway, I will know by the time Upstream comes around this week.

Sunday Morning :)

Good afternoon all! Parker and I went to church this morning at Central Baptist, and It was nice. I liked sitting with him in church for once. Because he has been the worship leader at his church for the past couple years at his home church, he rarely visited my church and I rarely visited his because it was 30 mins away, and I wouldn't be able to sit with him because he had to sit with the worship team. So this was really nice actually getting to sit together and experience sunday morning service together. Central Baptist wasn't a perfect fit for me, but it was still a very nice morning. Last night I got the vast majority of my biology done and I just finished the rest of it in under 20 mins. Parker is at his chemistry SI (Supplimental Instruction) and then we are both going to take all of our study stuff to the SCC (Student Computing Center) and finish up the weekend's homework, and then we will probably go to his appartment and play Age of Empires (a really fun computer game) with his room mate jake and have our mini LAN party*. I'm feeling a little sleepy, so I think I might pick up an energy drink along the way. Then I have my biology SI from 9:00-10:00 tonight...maybe a nap somewhere in there would be a good idea.

Love Life

So, I find it amazing how God places different stimuli in our lives at just the right time. He's that guy that knows just what to say and just when to say it. Of course, he would be quite literally out of this world. There are only two perfect men that have ever been in my life. On a non-fictional level, there's Jesus Christ. On a fictional level, there's Edward Cullen*.
Finding that perfect man- for right now there are only those two men in my love life...but i think that they are both quite amazing, so I shouldn't be complaining. The main reason for my dissatisfaction is because yet another extremely decent man has walked right out of my love life. I'm quite selfish to need three men to be content, (I mean really, who wouldn't settle for Jesus and Edward Cullen*?) but I still have this overwhelming sense of loneliness. I'm only eighteen, maybe I'm just melodramatic...but Cody (the decent man whom is no longer a participant in my love life) was twenty-two...people get married at eighteen. They most certainly get married at twenty-two...
But in the midst of all my self-pity and loneliness, I decided to do my weekly devotional. wow. There He goes again being Mr. Right. I've already found the love of my life. Whoever i find on this earth will always be second to Him...there's no way they can compare.
The devotional began with this verse: I love the Lord, for he heard my voice; He heard my cry for mercy. Because He turned His ear to me, I will call on Him as long as i live. Psalm 116:1-2 (NIV)
Sometimes I feel like my God is just as fictional as my Edward Cullen...but this is proof he Isn't. He is the real love of my life. He is real. He is listening to me and He loves me. He loves me.
What more can I ask for? Some flawed creature, some man, made of flesh?
No, He is enough. He is much more than enough. He fills my heart until it overflows. I cannot ask for more.
